  • The bus WILL NOT wait for your child if you are late for departure.  You will be responsible for getting your child to camp at that point.

  • For the return of your camper, you MUST be ON TIME or your child WILL NOT be able to attend resident camp 2009.

  • There will be a Parent Meeting for ALL resident Campers and  Parents that YOU MUST attend at the right time.  NO EXCEPTIONS will be made and if the meeting is missed then you will lose your deposit and your campers spot.

  • Get mailing address and phone number for the camp to the parents

Campers this year will receive a Sleeping bag if they did not receive one last year (we have a list of bags and who they were given out to last summer), but this will be the only one that is provided to your for your child.  After they have received one from Bethlehem Center, then they will not get one from year to year.  You will be expected to keep track of it or replace it if needed the next year.

Each camper will receive a duffle bag yearly with the following supplies in it.  Anything else that is needed is the parent responsibility.  We will NOT supply your child with this bag if you do NOT attend the MANDATORY parent meeting in May.

Please remember for a low cost to you ($25) your child is getting an experience that will last forever and costs the center over $200 per camper.  We enjoy offering this to the children, but we expect your cooperation in preparing your child for camp.

TAG bags with registered child’s name will be given as they leave the May Parent Meeting.

RESIDENT CAMP PREPARATION

Each year the Bethlehem Center sends children to Resident Camps in North Carolina with the help of area churches, board members and surrounding community outside of our service area.  As we do EVERY year we provide the campers with sleeping bags and a duffle bag full of supplies needed for their camp experience.  They borrow the sleeping bags usually, but this year they are going to keep them.  We are also changing how we go about collecting the supplies for the campers.  In the past we would just put a list of items out there and hope we get enough.  This year we are requesting completed packages be donated instead.  Below you will find what a sponsor for a duffle bag will need to have and when we would like them in by.

Camper Prep for Camp:

  • Duffle Bag (generic, no gender specific)

  • Sleeping bag (plain colors, no cartoons)

  • Flashlight and batteries

  • Bar soap

  • Shampoo

  • Conditioner

  • 2 hand towels

  • 2 face cloths

  • Lotion

  • Bug repellent

  • Sun block

  • Toothbrush

  • Toothpaste

  • Poncho or light rain coat

  • Heavy duty comb or brush

  • Deodorant

  • Bible (optional, but please let us know if your bag does NOT have one)

  • Anything additional is up to you, but the above are essential.

PLEASE place all liquids in a large Ziploc bag for each child!  We are hoping to get “packets” of stuff together to make packing of the bags easier and more efficient!

Campers start registering in February and we will start taking finished bags on March 1st and would like to have enough for the campers by April 30th, and we will then hold our Parent Meeting and distribution of supplies soon after that.
